HUGE congratulations to Phil Wylie and Alice Hector for two dominant displays in the British and Scottish Elite Duathlon Championships!
Phil lead the first 5km run by 15secs coming into T1 before falling back into the lead bike pack. The bike was a fairly controlled affair with a few attacks coming towards the end of the ride but the group stayed together. Phil came out of T2 in 7th place and had some work to do to get back to the front. The lead 3 athletes were together for most of the run but Phil managed to break free with 1km to go to cross the line with a clear margin of victory, great result Phil, well done!
Phil has also been racing in France again this year and recorded a 5th place finish in the first French Grand Prix of the year. Clearly in great form we are confident this must make Phil one of the favourites to be selected for this year’s European and World Duathlon teams. Follow Phil this season via his Twitter
On the same weekend Alice dominated the women’s Scottish Duathlon Championships by 5mins in a very strong performance which has put her back on the radar for Commonwealth Games selection! Incredibly exciting news to have both Alice and Kerry gunning for selection now in triathlon and cycling respectively.
Congratulations to you both again!
