You can register for the attempt on our website here. We need as many people as possible, so please do turn up on the day. Please come dressed in the following colours according to your surname;
Surnames A-E – Blue ring
Surnames F-J – Yellow ring
Surnames K-O – Black ring
Surnames P-S – Green ring
Surnames T-Z – Red ring
The plan for the day is as follows;
Please aim to arrive at 11:00. You will need to register at the appropriate colour ring registration desk in the main marquee on the south side of the Royal Ave near the bandstand. You will be given a unique wristband in your colour ring which you must keep on and allow members of our team to check and count. An area for you to leave baggage will be available and will be manned throughout the record attempt. If you have any friends or family who would also like to take part, but haven’t registered, please bring them, dressed in one of the five colours, and they can register at our registration desk which is available for people who have just turned up on the day.
From approx. 11:30 members of the blue ring will be called and the rings will start be formed. Please only enter the attempt area when your ring colour is called.
The attempt will take place between approx. 12:20 – 12:30, with a mass warm up before this. Please be aware that to set the record the ring formation must be in situ for 10 minutes, so wherever possible please do not leave the attempt area after the hooter signalling the start of the record attempt is sounded, or you will be discounted and our total for the attempt will go down!
We can’t wait to see you there!
